Lovely stay in caislean oir. Great chats with James - lovely food - very kind to get up and open tv room for early Lions rugby match for my husband and then also serve him breakfast while watching it. Great staff.

We enjoyed out too short [just the one night stay] @ Caisleain Oir. Beautiful part of the country and a great beach near by. Great view from our large room @ front of the hotel. The weather was fantastic when we were around. Food in the bar was lovely and the staff friendly. Loved the Kinnegar Limeburner craft beer. Have had it a few times down here in Waterford but the off licence usually sells out of it! It was our first time up in Donegal and it wont be the last time we venture up. Go raibh maith agat agus Slainte!

Apart from the hot tub being slightly too warm, our champagne being served without the Beluga caviar ordered, the infinity pool overflowing and the failure of Elton John to play in the bar on our first night as advertised, we had a great time.

I cannot praise everyone at Caisleain Oir enough. James and his staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The room had a beautiful view and was spotlessly clean, as were the public areas. The restaurant and bar were very comfortable and the food of high quality and so delicious. All at a very reasonable price (special offer). I can certainly recommend Caisleain Oir and look forward to returning.

We had a nice stay and found the hotel staff friendly, efficient and helpful. There was a very loud party in the hotel on the second night till 3 am and as the whole point of our stay was to rest without our children waking us up it was a bit disappointing to be kept awake with this. But apart from that it is a very nice hotel.

Business trip and overnight stay. Great friendly hotel which blends in the needs of the business traveller but still remains great value and a charming place to stay. Food is fresh local produce rather than bland chain meal stuff. If you get chance opt for a bay view room as the views are fantastic.

As usual a fabulous stay at Caislean óir. As we met at the Gaeltacht as teenagers we always enjoy going back up for a weekend break and it always feels like our second home. This last stay was particularly special as we were collecting our wedding album from a local photographer and good friend, Pamela Bloe. We will always be coming back and having a breakfast cooked to order is always so tasty! The dinner was amazing too and the portion sizes were fantastic! :-)

It took a long time to get the TV working despite several requests of reception. In the end I got some batteries from the restaurant. Even then it did not work and it was not until my wife refused to leave reception until someone sorted it out. When booking out reception wanted us to pay again. Fortunately I had the receipt from the night before.

Left side bedside light and bathroom shaving light functioned intermittently and require attention. Most people are used to hotel doors locking automatically when closing. It was an excellent choice and the proximity to the Airport was a huge bonus. I would like to make a particular reference to the Lady on reception who's name I can't recall. She was extremely helpful and friendly and deserves special notice. I wi definitely stay again

As for the scenery, it's just majestic, watching the sun rise and set on the Atlantic should not be missed. an ideal location for the many beautiful local attractions in Donegal. Once again, I had a great stay at Casleain Oir. The friendliness of all staff - in reception, restaurant, bar and domestic made it such a pleasure. Nothing was a problem. The food was great, thanks, I've put on weight! The rooms are so clean and items such as bottles of water, shower gels etc, always replaced. Perhaps the view at the back of the hotel could be improved. I look forward to my next stay at Casleain Oir. Thank you all.

We stayed here for 3 nights early March 2015. Great little hotel, clean, hygenic and the most helpful staff I have ever met! Nothing is too much for them. Food in the bar was well cooked, albeit huge portions, could have easily shared our meals. The room had a fantastic view overlooking the sea, bed was really comfortable and the linen was fresh and clean. The only downside (if there was one) is no fridge in the room but they were quite happy to put things in the main fridge for us which was extremely helpful. It is a great starting point if you wish to travel around Donegal coast taking in the Wild Atlantic Way which has some spectacular sights along the coast. We did both the north Wild Atlantic Way and the South Wild Atlantic Way and loved every minute of it. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

I recently stayed for 3 nights, and could not praise this hotel enough, the location is fantastic overlooking the strand. Annagry is such a beautiful village and its people are wonderful and friendly. The hotel rooms are spacious and spotless, nothing is to much bother to any of the staff. And the food, what can I say, you will need a huge appetite to finish your meal. The quality of the food is top class. Joe and James are so friendly and helpful, and have fantastic local knowledge. Rosie in the restaurant is so personable, once you meet her you feel you have known her all your life, a beautiful hard working girl. and the two Sean's in the bar, just amazing service. An excellent menu with a wide choice of fish, chicken and meat dishes all freshly cooked with a wide selection of side orders. The deserts were equally tempting. Breakfast was a choice of cereal/fruit, freshly caught fish, scrambled egg/smoked salmon as well as the usual fry. All very tempting. Will definitely revisit - probably next spring. We had a superb break. The hotel is quiet and well located, the staff were on top of things and the food was excellent. I think a bit too much is made of the traditional music (in Ireland) though your band made a brief attempt at something different. It gets a bit monotonous after a while so more variety in that area is suggested.

Well what can I say . I have worked in the hotel trade for the last 25years at some of the top hotels in Scotland . I can truly say that the Caisleain Oir Hotel is way up there with the best of them . From the minute we signed in to the momment we left we could not have asked for more . From the very polite maid who serviced the rooms . To the waiter that served our dinner and the girls on breakfast were 10/10 . We have eaten here on several years and not disappointed once . This is an excellent hotel and I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at this location. The most striking feature is that the staff are extremely helpful and will assist you in whatever way you can. One example; breakfast is served from 8am but my husband who was taking part in the Gaelforce North adventure race needed his earlier due to the start time of the race. "Is 6:30am too early we asked?" "Not a problem" was the response! We also ate in the hotel on the Friday evening and had a really enjoyable meal, and again customer service was of the highest order. A very clean and tidy hotel throughout, and we will definitely return for a longer stay in the future. In conclusion if you are looking for a hotel in this area please don't hesitate to stay here.

We enjoyed our stay and will certainly recommend the Hotel to others. One observation was that breakfast always seemed a bit chaotic, with empty juice jugs and empty fruit bowls and nobody on hand to replenish them. It felt as though the young people serving breakfast were a bit out of their comfort zone, which was in contrast to staff serving meals in the evening.

This small hotel has a lovely relaxed and casual ambience which is so often missing in larger impersonal hotels. Service was great, food was excellent in the bar. Room was very nice and clean. We did not sleep at all well, however, owing to a lot of noise coming from downstairs eg. the piano late at night, clunking/banging noises - perhaps from the kitchen; and also early morning noise in the hallways. Also, the light coming through the curtain woke us up very early in the morning. Surely heaving curtains and blinds should be in order? This all had a negative impact on our trip because we were then so tired we attempted to snooze later than planned just to catch up on some sleep and thence got away on a much later start than we should have in order to site-see at Glenveigh.

My husband and I stayed at the Caisleain Oir for three nights to kick off our 10 day stay in the West of Ireland. It was the best accommodations we had of the three different places we stayed. It was the perfect mix of peace/quiet and fun/buzzing. There was always someone in the pub downstairs, but you could also retreat to the cozy, quiet room if you wanted. The view was amazing and the food is to die for. The salmon and steak was the best meal I had in Ireland. And James and Michelle were so hospitable and sweet, as well as everyone else we encountered there.

Very Welcoming Hotel and staff are always very helpful and friendly. Excellent meals are served in the Bar area in the evenings. Breakfast is a delight and I always started mine with home made porridge cream and honey, delicious. The scenery is superb, but the weather can vary, so it is always best to bring appropriate clothing.

My wife and I found it a very pleasent place to stay. Staff very friendly. Food was good and really did enjoy our meal in the main restaurant. This was are second time staying in the hotel and found the experience godd on both occassions. Would thougly recommend it to anybody who wants a very quiet and restful break in a very lovely part of Donegal though unfortunately spoiled by too many holiday homes.

Nice people, good services (also WIFI connections), lovely environment. It would be better if the wifi connection could be extend to the rooms and not only near the hall. Surely in the future we will glad to stay in you rooms.

We had a wonderful time at Caislean. The staff were all very friendly and could not have been more helpful. The food was great, and due to that fact we all ate too much. The hotel was spotless and the beds very very comfortable. Staff were always at hand to see to our every need.
